What Is Detoxification
Detoxification is the neutralization and elimination of toxins and waste products from the body. A wide range of substances and pollutants in the environment enter the human body via food, drink, and air and harm our cellular functioning and metabolism. Fortunately, your body has natural detoxification abilities primarily involving the liver, kidneys, skin, and lungs. These organs work together to decompose toxins and remove their debris through urination and sweat. In healthy individuals, these processes are generally efficient.
Your organs actually have specific “working hours” that are most active and effective for detox. For example, 3-5 a.m. is the time for lung detox, and 5-7 a.m. is for large intestine detox. The following image shows the entire body rhythm for detox.
