They make extra long link cables to connect the 2 Scalar boxes. I use Scalar at night either side of the bed for my sleep and the standard lead that comes with it is just long enough to span the width of the super king bed. I had the same concern as you about any kind of light sources in the bedroom. So I cover the light emitting part with a slim box or a hard back book. In addition to that I wear an eye mask. Scalar definitely has helped with my sleep. I continue to use blue light blocking glasses too though. I use the Scalar with a GenX, so download the programs I want to use onto the GenX and the laptop is then not in the room. I also have to cover the light emitting screen on the GenX at night with a black sock. Good luck with it!
