Ho’oponopono: Four Magical Healing Sentences of Hawaiian Therapy

You may have heard of the Hawaiian therapy called Ho’oponopono. We have previously given gifts regarding this healing technique because it can help you heal the mind and the body, improving your health and interpersonal relationship.

The World View of Ho’oponopono

The intriguing story began with Dr. Len, who mended mentally insane criminals by repeating the four magical sentences in Ho’oponopono therapy: I am sorry, please forgive me, thank you, and I love you.

Why should you apologize even if it is not your fault? Ho’oponopono says that the physical universe is a projection of our inner mind, where everything we experience exists. If you want to take control of your life, you have to take responsibility for everything that happens, including your and everyone else’s actions.

The problem, therefore, is not with our external reality but with ourselves. If you want to correct these wrongs, you need to cleanse your mind through four steps: repentance, forgiveness, gratitude, and love.

Understanding the Four-Sentence Mantra of Ho’oponopono

Here is a video by our founder John White to help you understand Ho’oponopono.

The Hawaiian healing technique includes four simple steps:

Repentance: I am Sorry.

Do you not feel remorse when you hear about a terrible disaster? People naturally feel sorry for whatever misfortune that has befallen someone. This realization may help you accept responsibility for the seemingly other’s problems. You can start by saying sorry to yourself, something as small as catching a cold. “I’m sorry I didn’t take care of myself.” Little by little, you will be ready to accept more responsibilities.

Forgiveness: Please Forgive Me

When you feel ashamed of your wrongdoings, usually, you ask for forgiveness. It does not matter from whom you ask for forgiveness. The point is to say it, repeat it over and over again with a sincere heart. Say it as you mean to fix the problem. Then you may be able to make a change.

Gratitude: Thank You

Again, it does not matter to whom or what you express your gratitude. Just say it. Thank your parents for giving your life. Thank the universe for being so astonishing. Thank everything you can think of, and fill your heart with the deepest gratitude.

Love: I Love You.

Now you know the drill. Say “I love you”. Say it to yourself, God, the sky, the air, the sun, the house you reside in. Say it over and over. Mean it. Feel it. There is nothing as powerful as love.

And these are the four simple steps and their mantra to miracles.

The significance of this mantra is to reset your subconsciousness, constantly cleaning up the inner part of you and prepare your internal to change the external. And that is how you accept and take full responsibility for everything that happens in your life.
